I Voted Early – Have You?!?!

An Endorsement for Randy Horiuchi

OK team, just wanted to get the word out. I know some of you think I’m a little over the top… and I don’t expect anyone to swing to the Obama side if you’re already set on voting for McCain… we already know that this state is “going red” for the presidential election. (Although, this "punkin" my brother-in-law carved may change your mind...)

But I am making a plea to the common ground [Vote Horiuchi!]… to decency and experience and a man who’s been willing to cross party lines time and time again; a Democrat who’s manage to continue to get elected in this state despite NOT being a Republican. That means middle-of-the-road people. [Vote Horiuchi!]

It’s not so hard to cross party lines… I do it all the time (I bet some of you are surprised to hear that). I voted for Huntsman because I think he’s done a nice job the last 4 years – I think he’s middle of the road; that he looks at the big picture, and what’s in the best interest of this state – even when it’s not popular.

Just one of the many reasons I adore Randy… he’s a family friend and I want to do what I can to help extend his tenure. [Vote Horiuchi!]

Check out Randy’s statement about his role in making the word (or at least Salt Lake County a better place.)

“Over the term of service in Salt Lake County, I have been a key figure in three Salt Palace expansions, the South Towne Center, the building of a new jail, the Clark Planetarium, Children's Museum, the rebuilding of a fire department, dozens of parks, pools, rec centers, ball fields and open space ventures. While I have had a strong ethic to increase the quality of life experiences in Salt Lake County, I have had a conservative fiscal impact as well, increasing property taxes only twice in 16 years and both increases were made necessary from action of previous administrations. The amazing challenges of county government in the future demand substantial experience. I'm a serious guy with serious experience. I've got game.”

And you don’t just have to take my word for it… He’s also endorsed by a bunch of Sheriff’s organization, despite the fact that his opponent is a a 27-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office.

You can read more about it in the trib if you’re so inclined:

"Salt Lake County Sheriff's Capt. Steven DeBry has taken a political thump from within his own ranks in challenging long-time Democrat Randy Horiuchi for a County Council seat. . .Although DeBry shares a brotherhood with the county's law-enforcement officers, he was left out of their political endorsements this year as three sheriff's associations threw their support behind his civilian rival.”

In the end, I ask you not to vote “straight ticket” … there are some great candidates this year from all the parties. (Matheson and Jani are two others I definitely I think are worth taking a look at…)

BUT PLEASE VOTE HORIUCHI!!! He’s a name and a face you can trust! With a proven record, no attack ads and will continue to serve us!

(Ok, no politics tomorrow… Besides it being Halloween, I start my 3rd trimester officially on the 31st, so it’s an exciting day!!!)

Hey Sabreeny!

I had to check out your blog as I had to catch up on your latest political ponderings and I'm glad to see you voted today. I read somewhere that this election is like waiting for a biopsy from your doctor. On Tuesday he'll be calling to tell us whether we live or die. Please let it be Obama! (I'm volunteering on Monday for the Obama campaign since it appears that Arizona is suddenly a swing state; "Obama, for you I will deliver Arizona!")

From the looks of your pic below, you make a great looking mom! So I guess if you're about to enter your last trimester, due date is around February 1st?

Ok, that's it for now! Say "howdo" to Danny!

Spencer and I voted last week, but we are saving our "I voted" stickers to wear next tuesday!!! I wish I could vote for Randy! Does Pace count? Also Spencer and I have been meaning to tell you that if you are not already tuning into the new 90210, that you should. Guess who we think "Heart Throb- Ethan" looks like? His name rhymes with Fanny.

I wish I were in SLC so I could vote for Randy. I love that man.

I also love you.

I can't believe you voted for Hunstman. Don't you want Utah to be the most Totally Awesome State in the union?

Allison and I both do.

Vote SuperDell!!!

I can't think of a better tagline than "he's got game" for a legitimate politician. Also, I think Governer SuperDell has a nice ring to it.

I can't believe that Cassandra's year away is almost over. That is happy news for me.... I need her back here for treacherous winter running!

And here is the link to the yoga pics you asked about:

http://scenesfromthewild.blogspot.com/search?q=backbends

She just launched a photography website that you might want to consider for some prego pics (do it! I so regret that I didn't and Whit has some beautiful pics from her last pregnancy!)

Her photog site is:

simplejoysimplebeauty.com

She's got it goin' on.

Tell Cassandra I'm counting down to her return.

p.s. Go Obama! : )
